Dear friend, Three further refuseniks have been sentenced in recent hours: Lieut. (res.) Timor Yisraeli of the armoured corps has been sentenced to 28 days for refusal. Yisraeli, a student of theatre, is a signatory of the "Courage to Refuse" declaration. Sgt. (res.) Oded L. (at his request, we are withholding his name) of Rehovot, has been sentenced to 35 days' detention. The number of jailed refuseniks now stands at 16. A further 20 cases of refusal are pending, awaiting the response of unit commanders. In view of the much tougher policy now adopted by the army, we expect most of these cases to entail imprisonment.
