**Thousands of Palestinians Demonstrate in West Bank and Gaza Strip**

Palestinians Killed:
Isam Muthqal (30 years old), targeted in the head with live
ammunition, Ramallah Issa Isma'il (28 years old), targeted in the chest with live ammunition, Ramallah Ahmad Radwan (18 years old), targeted in the head with live ammunition, Tulkarem Maher Hashash, (35 years old), targeted in the head with live ammunition, Nablus Dozens of thousands of Palestinians took to the streets of the West Bank and Gaza Strip at dawn today in a popular demonstration against the continuous crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people.

Demonstrations took place in every Palestinian city, town and refugee camp after midnight challenging the imposed curfew and intense presence of Israeli military forces and tanks.

In Ramallah, around 200 people walked through the center of town (al-Manara) in an attempt to reach President Arafat's headquarters. Two demonstrators were killed with live ammunition and at least 30 others were wounded in confrontations with Israeli soldiers, which centered
mainly in Qalandya refugee camp, al-Bireh and the western entrance to Ramallah.

In Tulkarem, thousands of people gathered in Jamal Abdel Nasser courtyard condemning Israeli brutality against the Palestinians and their leadership and warning against harming President Arafat and his besieged brothers. Israeli soldiers opened fire randomly at the demonstrators, killing at least 1 person (Ahmad Radwan, 18 years old) and wounding several others.

Thousands of people confronted the occupation army in Nablus city and refugee camps. Israeli soldiers used live ammunition and tear gas bombs against the demonstrators. Maher Hashash, 35 years old, from Balata refugee camp, was killed with live ammunition in the head.

In Bethlehem, thousands of people took part in demonstrations throughout the city amidst Church bells and mosque calls.

Hundreds demonstrated in Hebron against the Israeli occupation and its brutality.

Similar demonstrations took off from the rest of West Bank cities, villages and refugee camps.

In the Gaza Strip, thousands walked the streets repeating Arafat support slogans. Demonstrations took place in Jabalya refugee camp, Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahya, Tel al-Za'tar and Jabalya city.

In south Gaza Strip, Khan Younis (al-Tuffah military roadblock) and in Rafah intense confrontations with the occupation army broke out.

The Israeli army attacked Khan Younis (western) refugee camp and al-Amal quarter with heavy machine gun fire. No causalities were reported but severe material damage was inflicted on homes.

I am extremely frustrated and disillusioned. I grew up in a liberal Jewish family that stressed the importance of fighting for justice, human rights and peace for all. I grew up hearing the mantra "Never Again" and internalized the Jewish experience of having been brutalized throughout history as a feeling of obligation towards all who suffer . I have been to the concentration camps in Poland, I have heard a hundred first hand accounts from survivors with tatooed numbers on their arms. I am well aware of the awful transgressions committed against the Jewish people. It is shameful and tragic that so many Jews today including my own family are so scared that they have allowed themselves to become what they have feared most, oppressors. Morals, ethics and codes of conduct must be universally applied or no one will ever be safe. I plan to do everything I can to stop this horror !
