More than 50 others were wounded, 10 of them seriously. Israel suspects the assailant slipped across the West Bank border from Tulkarm, four miles to the east. He disguised himself in Israeli army uniform to enter the market. Police said the attacker and another man were killed in the fruit market and two others died in hospital. Two Palestinian organisations, Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility. Israeli intelligence sources alleged that the Popular Front leader, Ahmad Sa'adat, had ordered the attack from Jericho, where he is being held. The attack raised the prospect of Israeli retaliation and tanks were reported to be moving into Ramallah yesterday. Earlier today a second suicide bomber exploded in northern Israel, killing himself but no others, police said. A police spokesman said a paramilitary border patrol approached a suspicious person, who detonated explosives he was carrying on his body before he could be apprehended. www.independent.co.uk add your comments

People died in my home town by Netanya 1:54pm Tue May 21 '02 print comment But the blame is not only on the suicde bomber that did it or the person that send him. The BLAME is on international activists that take one side in the conflict and support deadly terror on inocent citezents. The blame is on the root of europian antisemitism (jews can die , and try not to retaliate , die without making a sound). I blame them all for the tradegy. add your comments

Independent by Dov 3:25pm Tue May 21 '02 print comment The Independent is ofcourse a well known anti Israel paper. Fisk and Phil Price write for it. But when you read this article, the writer sounds like a robot. He says 4 people were murdered by a Palestinian suicide bomber. On the other hand, try and imagine if an Israeli gunman went into a Palestinian market and started maching gunning civilians to death. I guarantee you, the Independent would have went on a tirage against Israel. They would probably say, Israel just commited one of the worst massacres in history. Yet when Palestinians deliberately slaughter Israeli civilians, these Independent reporters sound like robots. Anyone else notice this. add your comments

The blame is on the USA for supporting someone like Sharon and Likud who refuse to recognize Palistinians as human and have amnesia when it comes to UN 242, rebuffing the Saudi peace plan, and building settlements in OCCUPIED territories in violation of international law. add your comments
