Israeli Solider Says: Troops Competed to Kill Palestinians

Sunday, January 20 2002 @ 07:41 PM GMT

By Saif Abu Marzouq, PalestineChronicle.com Reporter

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM: In a special interview aired at Israeli television, Channel 2, and reported by the Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, a solider who was discharged from the Israeli army a week ago said that Israeli troops and special units carried out "unimaginable" practices against Palestinians.

He said that he was a witness to a happening where Israeli troops competed among themselves on who is capable of killing more Palestinians, saying that soldiers would brag afterwards about the number of Palestinians they have killed.

According to the unnamed solider, Israeli troops operated on the basis of killing as many Palestinians as possible.

He told Channel 2 that while serving with the army in the West Bank town of Ramallah, one of his colleagues shot and killed a 10-year-old Palestinian boy without any reason. He also narrated occasions where soldiers would slam the heads of detained Palestinians into concrete walls after being arrested and handcuffed.

The army practices have also extended, according to the solider, to stealing Palestinian goods and furniture. He said that in one occasion, following a traffic accidents between two Palestinian cars, Israeli soldiers in his unit ignored the wounded passengers and began dismantling and stealing the record players of the two wrecked vehicles.

"According to the unnamed solider"

Good source material.

Now how about a "news article" about how
Palestinians feel about killing Jewish children?

Do some interviews in the Terrorities and ask
people how they felt about the Bat Mitzvah
shooting. I have a feeling the Palestine
Chronicle won't include that commentary.

once again, the Palestinians only have this solution now, unfortunately for them and you.

But the ICF (Israel Colonization Forces) are there theorically to defend your settled country... In fact they vitrify palestinians, blow up Radio and TV stations (uh ! bad Terrorist electromagnetic waves !), starve any arab, and assist the bulldozers in your holy colonization...

The article in the Palestinian Chronicle refers to an interview with a soldier done on Israeli Television Channel 2. The soldier was unnamed in the original interview so you cannot expect the article to name the soldier

Can you imagine the retaliation the soldier would suffer if word got out as to his identity. If I were him I'd fear for my life too. I have several close friends who were formerly part of the IDF and I have heard them tell me what some in the IDF are capable of.

Expect that by election time both Israel and Palestinian sovereignty to be a pipe dream in the next 10 years.

Nationalism and Fascism are tools of the trade in that region. I hope everyone there is prepared for what will result of this childish display of aggression.

No surprise to hear about Israeli atrocities Hebrew

Unfortunately, it came as no surprise to read of
Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian
population. Any country that allows its armed
forces to randomly torture and shoot children is
obviously one which regards the sanctuary of
human life with little value. Until we in the
west wake up and accept that Israel far from
fighting terrorism is actually engaging in it
then I fear the War on Terrorism will never be
won.
