ביום שני (17.9), הבחינו כמה מתושבי שכונת שיפרא בת"א בגינה בה מוחזקות מעל מאתיים תרנגלות בתנאי צפיפות והזנחה קשים.
התרנגלות הוחזקו במקום במטרה להמכר לשימוש כ"כפרות". לקראת יום הכיפורים רוכשים סוחרים רבים מספר גדול של תרנגלות ולאחר מכן מוכרים אותם לשווקים השונים.
פעילים עצמאים שהגיעו לגינה בה הוחזקו התרנגולות החלו להתווכח עם בעל השטח, ובמקביל הגיעו למקום ניידת משטרה וניידת פיקוח עירוני.

בפסק הדין שניתן ביום 30.8.07 בבקשת מכללת ת"א ובכיריה לצו מניעה, דחה שופט בית המשפט המחוזי בת"א-יפו, ד"ר עודד מודריק, את רוב בקשות התובעים וקבע כי פעילות המחאה של הנתבעות לא אופיינה בשימוש באלימות או בהסתה לאלימות, וכי לא היתה כל הסתה או התפרעות מצד הפעילים. הזכות להפגין מול בתי בכירים נוספים במכללה, לא נשללה אף היא. לדברי הפעילות: מכללת תל אביב-יפו מעוניינת להשאיר הדיון על זוועות הניסויים מעבר לקירותיה האטומים של המעבדה, ולמנוע בכל דרך אפשרית שקיפות וביקורת ציבורית.
